Why Be a Rep?
Choosing the REPS / overview

We would like to make your decision to choose to play for the Mississauga Reps AAA Hockey Club easy. We are always looking for players who excel in hockey, are dedicated to improvement both on and off the ice, are eager to work with the best coaches in the G.T.H.L. and have the desire to move up to the next level.

We understand that choosing the right organization, program and coach is not always easy. Word of mouth is important, but it doesn't account for individual circumstances. So what should parents and players be looking for?

QUICK FACTS:

  • The Coach:Be sure the coach has a record of player development. Five of our coaches have either played pro hockey or coached junior hockey and have arguably sent more players onto Junior, University and Pro hockey than any other.
  • The Program: Choose a program that will be challenging. We offer a minimum of three hours of ice per week plus dry land.
  • The Organization: Be sure the organization feels right. Look closely at their coach turnover ratio. Our organization has changed just two coaches in three years. Take the time to speak with the General Manager. Come out and watch our our teams play and practice. See how our coaches interact with their players and each other. Look at the location of the home games and practices. Our home games and practices are at Westwood Arena. Our organization makes it mandatory for all teams to have non-parent trainers on the bench.

We invite you to come to one of our home games at Westwood Arena on a Saturday and to get to know our coaches, our program and our organization - because if you do we're confident you'll want to become an REP.

And if you have any questions, please feel free to call Brian Ash, our General Manager, at 647-291-0810.
