Session A: POWER SKATING - Dates: Sept 17 to Dec 14, 2008 – Westwood Arena - Times: 40mins 6:10pm – 6:50pm Focusing on forward and backward stride development and enhancement. Balance, edges and agility improvement drills aimed to increase first step speed. Short and long interval conditioning to increase energy and decrease rest time. (Cost: $350 plus GST) Session B: PUCK SKILLS - Dates: Sept 17 to Dec 14, 2008 – Westwood Arena - Times: 40mins 6:50pm – 7:30pm Shooting drills to focus on wrist, slap, snap and backhand shots, shooting in traffic and through traffic with the ability to develop a quick release even if off balance. Stickhandling drills to focus on puck control, balance and protecting the puck to get into a shooting position and how to read defensive cues to adjust deking moves for improved success on 1-1's, 1-2's, or 3-2's. Passing drills to focus on tape-to-tape, saucer, indirect and space passing to develop accurate passing skills, while limiting opportunities for turnovers. (Cost: $350 plus GST) Session C: DRYLAND TRAINING - Dates: Sept 17 to Dec 14, 2008 – Westwood Arena - Times: 40mins 7:50PM – 8:30PM This session will focus on flexibility, foot speed and power with the aim to enhance explosiveness, agility, balance, core strength and endurance.
